“MISSIONAL LIVING - Part 2” IMPACT - Part 3

“MISSIONAL LIVING - Part 2” IMPACT - Part 3 Vann Kissell January 22, 2012

Missional Living means everybody ______________ and _______________ like Jesus.

Edmund Burke: “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”

1.  I WILL ROUTINELY SPEND TIME WITH GOD IN PRAYER AND BIBLE READING IN ORDER TO GET TO KNOW GOD BETTER.

John 17:3 “This is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”  NIV

2.  I WILL ENGAGE IN COMMUNITY IN ORDER TO CELEBRATE CHRIST.

3.  I AM GENEROUS WITH MY FINANCIAL RESOURCES IN A KINGDOM BUILDING WAY.

4.  I USE MY ________________ TO BRING CHRIST TO OTHERS, EVEN IF IT IS OUT OF MY ROUTINE.

Philippians 2:5-10 “Your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had.  Though He was God, He did not demand and cling to His rights as God.  He made Himself nothing; He took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form.  And in human form He obediently humbled Himself even further by dying a criminal’s death on a cross.  Because of this, God raised Him up to the heights of heaven and gave Him a name that is above every other name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow.”  NLT

Philippians 2:3-4 “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.  Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.”  NIV

1 Peter 4:10 “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”  NIV

5.  I SEEK OPPORTUNITIES TO _____________________________ ABOUT CHRIST WITH NON-CHRISTIAN FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS.

2 Corinthians 3:2 “You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody.”  NIV

Colossians 4:3 “Pray that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ.”  NIV

Romans 10:13-17 “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.  How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?  And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?  And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?  And how can they preach unless they are sent?  As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.  For Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed our message?’  Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message and the message is heard through the Word of Christ.”  NIV

Missional Living means everybody ______________ and _______________ like Jesus.

1.  I WILL ROUTINELY SPEND TIME WITH GOD IN PRAYER AND BIBLE READING IN ORDER TO _________________________________________.

John 17:3 “Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”  NIV

Ephesians 1:17 “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better.”  NIV

2 Corinthians 3:18 “And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, who comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”  NIV

Mark 1:35 “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed”  NIV

2.  I WILL ____________________ IN COMMUNITY TO CELEBRATE CHRIST.

Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider how to spur one another on toward love and good deeds.  Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”  NIV

3.  I AM ______________________ WITH MY FINANCIAL RESOURCES IN A KINGDOM BUILDING WAY.

2 Corinthians 9:11-13 “You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.  This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.  Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and everyone else.”  NIV

2 Corinthians 5:17-19 “Anyone who is joined to Christ becomes a new person; the old is gone . . . . .  All this is done by God, who through Christ changed us from enemies into his friends and gave us the task of making others his friends also.  Our message is that God was making all human beings his friends through Christ.  God did not keep an account of their sins, and he has given us the message which tells how he makes them his friends.”  TEV

2 Corinthians 5:19-21 “God was in Christ, making peace between the world and himself.  In Christ, God did not hold the world guilty of its sins.  And he gave us this message of peace.  So we have been sent to speak for Christ.  It is as if God is calling to you through us.  We speak for Christ when we beg you to be at peace with God.  Christ had no sin, but God made him become sin so that in Christ we could become right with God.”  NCV
